The 2025/26 season is drawing to a close, with the small matter of the 2026 World Cup on the horizon. Not to mention the excitement of the summer transfer window. The title winners have been crowned in three of the top five leagues, with Bayern Munich retaining the Bundesliga, Inter Milan winning Serie A and Barcelona clinching LaLiga. Paris Saint-Germain are just one point away from sealing another Ligue 1 title, whilst Arsenal and Manchester City continue to battle it out for the Premier League.

Football fans will naturally begin to reflect on the season and may start to wonder which players truly stood out in the leagues they follow with the utmost interest. And luckily for such supporters, this is also the time of the year that Transfermarkt turns to its amazing community to vote for their player of the season across 18 leagues. Last season the community voted for star players like Liverpool's 'Egyptian King' Mohamed Salah, Barcelona teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, and Bayern Munich's prolific Harry Kane as the best in their respective leagues. How the voting works for the TM Player of the Season awards

The Transfermarkt community has made a pre-selection of six candidates per position (goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards) from which one must be chosen per position. Next, from the four players chosen, you will decide who is the best player of the season in their respective leagues. You can vote for your player of the season in the top five leagues - Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1, La Liga and the Bundesliga - plus 13 other leagues across the world. Voting closes on May 25th across all competitions so remember to make your selections by then!
