1. FC Nürnberg Verein für Leibesübungen e. V., commonly known as 1. FC Nürnberg (short: 1. FCN or "the Club"), is a traditional football club from Nuremberg, founded on May 4, 1900. The club's colors are red and white, while its traditional colors are burgundy and black, which it has worn again since the 2007/2008 season. With nine league titles, the "Club" was the German record champion for over 60 years until 1987, before FC Bayern Munich replaced it. At the same time, it is also the only club to achieve the feat of being relegated one year after winning a championship. Since the mid-1980s, FCN has been known as a "yo-yo team": the club has failed to establish itself permanently in a league, instead repeatedly being relegated and promoted.
