1.FC Kaiserslautern was founded in 1900 and was one of the founding members of the German Bundesliga.
The club wears the colors red and white and has always played in the Fritz Walter Stadium, which opened in 1920 and hosted five matches in the 2006 World Cup. The “Red Devils” are eleventh in the all-time Bundesliga table and are one of the most successful teams in German soccer, having won four championships and two DFB Cups. In addition, the club can look back on 13 years of international appearances in the UEFA Cup and one year each in the Cup of Nations, Champions League and Cup Winners' Cup. FCK has been relegated to the second division three times so far: in 1996, 2006 and for the last time in 2012. Unforgettable and probably a record for eternity was the direct promotion in 1997 and the subsequent German championship in 1998. The second promotion after four years in the second division came in 2010. FCK played in the 2nd division from the 2012/13 to 2017/18 seasons. The club was relegated to the 3rd division for the 2018/19 season. After winning the relegation play-off, it will play in the 2nd division again in the 2022/23 season.
